Exercises according the Pilates method are known to be low impact and efficiënt in strengthening (core) muscles, improving posture, movement and flexibility. Pilates exercises can be helpful as crosstraining in addition to your regular training. During the recovery after an injury, pilates could be gentle enough to keep on moving. And for those new to fitness or starting back up after an absence, Pilates can be a great way to ease into a regular fitness regime.
The Pilates Reformer is best described as a bed with a moveable platform. Exercises can be done lying, sitting, sideways and even standing. The movements are resisted by springs, making the exercises easier or harder depending on what is desired. Needless to say the reformer offers a wide variety of exercises that will never leave you bored.
The Reformer which Orange Pilates uses is a beautiful handcrafted piece of equipment. It is comfortable and the straps and springs are made is such a way that they are fully and easily adjustable to every client. The somewhat higher stand makes the reformer easy accessible to get on and off.
Marianne will be working towards your goals with you. She is a certified Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor (Studio Pilates International) and a Nutrition Coach (Precision Nutrition PN2). Originally schooled as an Engineer in The Netherlands, Marianne discovered it was for her more rewarding to help other people find joy in moving and feeling fit and healthy. Together with her family she has lived all over the world but is now pleased to call Perth home for a long time to come.
